How big are DDoS attacks usually?
Small attacks run 1 to 10 Gbps, medium 10 to 100 Gbps, large over 100 Gbps. Most SMEs face small-to-medium attacks; finance, media and government bodies may face large ones. Note your past attack history when you enquire and UD engineers will recommend the right tier.
My site is tiny, could it still be hit by DDoS?
Yes. Attackers may use it for practice, extortion, competitor sabotage, or at random. Site size isn't decisive, SMEs often become easier targets precisely because their defences are weak.
How long does deployment take?
Typically within 1 business day. Because UD DDoS protection is cloud-deployed, there is no hardware shipping, data-centre installation or server swap. If you are under attack right now, note it in your enquiry and UD will expedite.
Will my site be completely unaffected during an attack?
About 99% of attack traffic is fully filtered, leaving the experience for real users intact. A very large attack (beyond your protection tier) may briefly slow the site, but won't take it fully offline. We recommend leaving some headroom based on past attacks or your business's sensitivity.
How does the 30-day refund work?
If you are not satisfied with the service in the first 30 days, you can request a full refund. The process is simple, handled by UD customer service, with the exact terms set out in the contract.
We already have a WAF, do we still need DDoS protection?
Yes. A WAF can block some Layer 7 (application-layer) DDoS, but large Layer 3 / 4 attacks saturate upstream bandwidth before they reach the WAF. Full protection pairs network-layer DDoS protection with an application-layer WAF.
Learn about Firewall & WAFHow do we get a quote, and what do you need from us?
Submit the form at the foot of the page, noting the protection capacity you expect, whether you are currently under attack, your current architecture and your target go-live date. A UD engineer will reply shortly to arrange a technical assessment, after which we provide a formal quote. Note any emergencies in the message and we will prioritise them.
